Kempten Autumn Talks
Welcome to our first international digital lecture series “Kempten Autumn Talks”, a joint event of the Institute for Internationalization (ifi) and the Faculty of Computer Science at Kempten University. Our focus will be game theory, networks and data science.
We are very pleased to have so many valued colleagues from our partner universities as well as other international research partners from all over Europe.
In the difficult times of a pandemic and social distancing, the friendly guest visits of our international partners are practically “on hold”. At the same time, a good network has shown that research collaborations, joint supervision of student theses as well as joint student projects work excellently in a digital fashion. We would like to thank all our partners for their support and the successful cooperation. In particular, Jochen Staudacher would like to express his deep gratitude to Izabella Stach from AGH Kraków for her support and for co-hosting this lecture series.
Of course, a digital exchange cannot replace all personal meetings in the long run, and that’s not what it is supposed to do, but as long as safe worldwide travel is not possible, it does make it possible to stay in touch. And that is very important to us.
Even though it is a challenge for the presenters not to be able to get into eye contact with the audience and not to receive in-person feedback during their presentation, we are all the more pleased that a large number of highly respected researchers are willing to engage in this new experience. For this already now our recognition and thanks!
Now we are looking forward to numerous exciting lectures in the context of our “Kempten Autumn Talks”. After the lectures there will be the opportunity to ask questions and exchange ideas. Please allow about 90 minutes for a presentation including discussion.
