Holo4Industries
Teaser
Holo4Industries is an application for the Microsoft HoloLens for supporting the mechanical engineering sector.
Short description
In this project the students worked in cooperation with the company DMG Mori. Their aim was to find cases for using the Microsoft HoloLens at a milling machine to support service technicians.
Modelled use cases are the maintenance of the control cabinet and the milling machine and showing the details of the machine for customers. The students also developed business cases to every use case. The practical implementation of an application of one use case represents the highlight of the project. With this application service technicians can fast and easy connect their PC to the IOT connector by using an Ethernet cable. The Holo4Industries shows a step-by-step instruction which is shown in the video below.
About the project
The special aspect at this interdisciplinary project is the connection between the faculties “Mechanical Engineering” and “Computer Science”. This contains that the students are from different courses of studies. Different backgrounds and varied knowledge results in an exciting and challenging teamwork.
